Summary
Social Justice Through a Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Fairness Framework is a vital resource that explores critical issues shaping our society today, including gun violence, racial discrimination, gender equality, immigration, and more, through a lens of diversity, equity, inclusivity, and fairness. It equips readers with an innovative framework that emphasizes taking responsibility for broad change over blame, tension, and shame.

Featuring 12 chapters written by experts across disciplines and specialties, the book not only discusses the deep inequities in our society, but also underscores the need for diversity, inclusivity, and fairness to inspire systemic change. It shows how the framework presented in the book can change individual mindsets toward diversity by enabling all people to see this work as an integral part of their own individual and societal values. Individual chapters cover cultural awareness and belonging, police brutality, voting rights, democracy, refugees, climate change and environmental justice, community engagement, issues of education equity during the COVID-19 pandemic, and more.

Ideal for upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in social sciences, humanities, and various practice-based professions like social work, Social Justice Through a Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Fairness Framework is an indispensable resource for students and academics. It advocates for taking proactive responsibility for societal change, thereby equipping young scholars and professionals with the knowledge and tools to contribute to a society striving for true equality and social justice.
