Summary
School Counseling Internship: Bridging a Gap Between Training and Practice is designed to facilitate the transition for students from academic training in school counseling to professional practice. Featuring contributed chapters from experts in the discipline, the book offers a multifaceted approach to understanding the real-world application of school counseling principles.

The text begins by establishing the importance of school counseling and student wellness, then progresses into the application of learned theories in a practical setting, covering topics such as ethical considerations and data-driven processes. Subsequent sections delve into specific strategies to meet diverse student needs, addressing crisis management, trauma, and the integration of technology and social media in school counseling. It concludes with guidance on professional development pathways for school counselors.

School Counseling Internship is ideal for use in graduate-level courses in school counseling, as well as by interns or practitioners entering the field. It presents a well-rounded educational resource to guide the development of skills necessary to bridge the gap between theory and practice, making it particularly relevant for courses emphasizing applied experience and the development of practical capabilities in school counseling.
