Introduction to the Criminal Justice System: A Student Investigative File invites students to engage with a series of problem-solving investigations with hypothetical crime scenes and fact patterns to learn about the criminal justice system and how it functions.

Opening chapters provide investigators-in-training with a basic understanding of the criminal justice system, the elements of a crime, common substantive criminal laws, and ethical practice.
