The anthology International Environmental Studies matches major ecological issues with prominent approaches and case studies. The text provides a dynamic reading experience, transdisciplinary perspectives, and opportunities for critical thinking.
The book examines six key ecological issues: food systems and agriculture, biodiversity, fresh water resources, energy, waste, and climate change. The text explores these issues using a variety of disciplines and approaches, with a particular focus on the unique economic, political, and social contexts affecting people’s access to natural resources. Case studies from around the world help illustrate the complexity of environmental issues with real-world examples.
International Environmental Studies is an excellent reader for introductory environmental and global studies courses, as well as mid-career professional programs and practitioners seeking an introduction to global environmental issues.
