Barbara Ella Milton, Jr., Ph.D., LCSW was a disabled, retired clinical social worker who, for 40 years, worked on the behalf of children, communities, and for progressive causes. She lived with bladder cancer and other chronic illnesses. She wrote about her life, her social work career, and her research on African American resilience. She was born in Camden, New Jersey, as the only child of Barbara Ella Milton Sr., who died from Alzheimer's in January 2019.
Deborah Brooks Lawrence, Ed.D. is an educator, author and child welfare specialist. She is a native New Yorker who believes that equitable access to viable resources will pave the road for universal recognition and sustainability of human rights.
