Essential Korean Idioms is a complete online course that helps foreign language learners develop their knowledge and use of Korean idioms. The activities help students learn words and phrases that are commonly used in everyday Korean speech.
The activities assist students in understanding not only the idiomatic meanings of idioms, but their literal meanings as well. Understanding the literal meanings helps learners comprehend idioms more clearly by encouraging them to leverage their background knowledge in vocabulary.
The digital materials within this course include flashcards—for both literal and idiomatic meanings—practice games, and reading activities. Learners are encouraged to practice the use of idioms within dialogue quizzes. Finally, students are challenged to use the idiomatic phrases covered in each unit within a practice conversation.
Essential Korean Idioms is designed to help learners expand their knowledge of conversational Korean.
